The West Bank of the Maumee River

Situated at the far eastern edge of Fulton County and spilling into Lucas County, Swanton is where Toledo's western suburbs meet rural homes and farmland. Affiliated Lumber is located just west of Swanton on County Road 3, 1.3 miles south of Airport Highway (US Route 20A).

The village of Swanton has an estimated 3,690 people in the village incorporated limits, according to the 2010 census, and more than 14,000 in total. The downtown developed around the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad line and depot. Commercial activity has shifted from the city center to the businesses located on Airport Highway, most notably Kroger, Rite-Aid, Key Bank, Swanton Pharmacy, and the Mail Pouch Saloon.
